Cultivation

In the first year, should any weed appear, they must be removed because the plant grows only one stem and grows very slowly. The eventual weed mustn't take away the growing space from the root of Virginia sida. It reaches a height of 60-90 cm at most, but from the second year it will grow to 2,5 - 4 meters. The various herbicides must be carefully applied, because knowledge about their effects on Virginia sida is incomplete as of yet. Virginia sida doesn't require special artificial fertilizers. Depending on actual usage, addition of 100-170 kg nitrate fertilizer per ha is recommended, but even 200-250 kg wouldn't be an overdose. Applying BactoFil® macrobiological products is also very effective.
